10 years ago, Hanne would not have believed to be working in the software industry. At that point, she was a bookseller in a busy medium size bookshop chain in Northern Germany and after three summers of selling school books, she handed in her resignation in summer 2007 to embark on a new journey. She started her degree in Computational Linguistics (since "normal" linguistics did not have the job prospects she was looking for). Enter Java and Python, Pragmatics and Psycholinguistics.
After completing her undergraduate degree, she moved on to study for her Master's degree at Edinburgh University, where more Python problems wanted to be solved. The second job after uni was as a software engineer but she quickly realised her strengths are in the Scrum Master/Agile Coaching realm. She hopes to be able to. With the ten training days at NCR she hopes to expand her knowledge on Agile Methodologies in order to better understand how help engineering teams be impactful and and bring out the best of their abilities.
Hanne has been in Edinburgh for the last 5 years and especially enjoys the Scottish countryside and weather (seriously, she does).
Outside of work, she is usually to be found with her Icelandic horse, roaming the countryside or conquering TREC obstacles. Alternatively, she is on her yoga mat (at NCR twice a week or at home), watching movies and exploring the Edinburgh food scene.
