Denise Marshall joined NCR CoDE in July 2014 as a technical writer. Her day-to-day role is asking questions of the software engineers and providing the answers in a human-readable format.
Originally from the United States, she has been in the UK since 2006. Denise studied for her MA Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on language evolution and dabbling in computational linguistics. Her affinity for technology and software engineers, combined with an ability to translate their technical jargon into the English that other folk can understand, led her into the niche career of technical writing.
After years of working for other multinationals, Denise was drawn in by the friendly people and flexible agile development environment of the NCR Edinburgh office. Ever interested in learning, she was finally won over by the study day opportunities.
Outside of the office, Denise is a mum, babywearing consultant, nappy librarian, and cycle campaigner with Pedal on Parliament.
