Role and Responsibilities
This role is as part of a centralised team which provides guidance, standards and support to engineers within the product development teams globally. You will help testers write better tests.
As Software Testing Standards Specialist, you will define and improve the processes engineers and analysts use to write, execute and manage tests. This includes:
- Defining best practices for automated and manual testing approaches
- Increase test automation coverage – by both QA and Software Engineers
- Provide internal training on test processes and tool
- Review existing project test cases and identify areas for improvement
- Develop end-to-end test cases (hands on - automated and manual)
About You
You are a passionate software testing professional, eager to take your experience and skills in testing to a larger team to raise standards and promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
As an experienced software tester, you will have hands on experience of both manual and automated testing but also talented at mentoring other test engineers to improve.
You will have a track record of leading by influence, making positive changes and helping others to become promoters. You are comfortable working across teams in different locations.
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Manual test cases development and execution
- Exploratory Testing
- Automated test case development
- Expertise in Web service (REST / XML / HTTP) and Web UI testing
- Test Driven Development (TDD) & Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) practices
- Experience with large SaaS / Enterprise applications (Java, web, mobile)
- Scripting & Programming experience
Preferred:
- Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) experience
- Experience working in both large and small organisations
- Awareness of test standards – pros & cons (e.g. IEEE 829)
- Java / SQL / HTML / JavaScript / CSS / XML / JSON
- Selenium
- Robot Framework
- Python
- Node.JS
- Basic Linux system administration
