Our People: Olwen Milne

Olwen joined NCR Edinburgh in August 2017 as a Technical Writer on the Connections Team. Prior to arriving at NCR, Olwen was a journalist and technical trainer. The relaxed atmosphere and emphasis on continual learning and personal improvement at NCR Edinburgh were a huge draw for her.

Half Welsh, half Northern Irish, she has a black sense of humour and is often found offering to make tea. Especially for those people in the office who don’t drink tea.

Born and brought up in Northern Ireland, Olwen came to Scotland to attend university, fell in love with Scotland and its people, and never left. When not working, Olwen lives in the beautiful Kingdom of Fife. Her spare time is taken up with reading, building lego with her son, and quality controlling the new inventions of her baker husband. She is hoping to use some of her NCR study days to volunteer with Citizens Advice Scotland, providing financial education in schools.

Olwen also loves travelling and torments her loved ones with promises of a relaxing family holiday, which inevitably consists of “approximately four million” steps a day exploring new places, according to her husband. Olwen has no family pets, but her spirit animal is Malcolm Tucker.
