Alfredo Fernandez

Alfredo joined the NCR Edinburgh Digital Insight team in October 2015 as a Platform Engineer working in DevOps.

He started his technical life working in a very small company composed by 2 bosses and himself. While this could sound terrible he didn't run away, he learnt web design and development, IT support and host configuration. It was in this moment that he got to know the philosophy and power of Free Software, and began to fall in love with it. He decided to start working for a bigger company, a place to improve his knowledge and to meet new professionals who love UNIX environment.

A few years later, he considered it was the best moment to move to Scotland in search of new professional challenges. When he discovered Edinburgh he made a big decision: he wanted to visit all the coffee shops and pubs in the city. Hopefully he will achieve that in less than 10 years!

He also enjoys riding his bicycle, travelling to exotic places and playing boardgames with his friends during the long winter nights.
