Daniel originally studied Management at Nottingham University, due to his interest in economics and strategy. After graduating, he spent a year teaching English, learning basic Spanish, and topping up his tan in Barcelona, before moving to London to work as a Business Analyst for a popular job website.
He enjoyed working in an agile team and helping to build interesting and useful things, but he wanted to know more about the magic that happened between handing requirements to a development team, and getting a working feature back for testing.
To do so, Daniel returned to university to complete a master's degree in Computer Science in 2013. He has been working as a full-stack Software Engineer and strengthening his development skills since then. He enjoys working on both the front and back-end, playing with Raspberry Pis, as well as investigating new languages, frameworks, and libraries.
He joined NCR Edinburgh in September 2015, keen to take advantage of the opportunities to learn through study days, conferences, hack days, and working with talented colleagues (it wasn't just the free breakfasts!).
When not tinkering with code, he enjoys cycling and hillwalking when feeling energetic, and watching films the rest of the time.
