Danielle joined NCR Edinburgh as a Documentation Specialist in July 2015. She comes from a multi-disciplinary background, starting her academic career at Edinburgh University with a BSc(Hons) in Microbiology, before completing a MSc in Forensic Engineering at the UK Defence Academy. She didn’t stop there though, before venturing out into the ‘real world’, Danni completed a PhD in Physics.
She then decided that it was time to say goodbye to the world of academia and took a Geophysicist role at a geological survey company for Oil and Gas. There, her passion for solving problems using algorithms and routines written in matlab flourished. To strengthen her technical abilities and leadership skills, Danni then moved on to Selex-ES as a Senior Systems Engineer. It was her time there that led Danni to discover another interest, one that has led her to NCR – writing good documentation! Immediately, Danni told us how she felt ‘right at home’ at NCR, the people are friendly and welcoming and the culture is one that provides a happy and optimum working environment. Never has she felt more productive so quickly in a new working environment.
When Danni isn’t enjoying life at NCR, she can generally be found immersed in arts and crafts (primarily due to her upcoming wedding), walking round Edinburgh and on the beach or enjoying the live music at her favourite local bar – Edinburgh’s bar on the beach! Danni was born in Edinburgh and has travelled many places around the world including Alaska, South Korea, Australia and Egypt but despite seeing so many place, she still thinks Edinburgh is the place to be!
