The third Spaniard in NCR CoDE is Emilio, who joined the Connections team in February 2015. With over 5 years of professional experience in IT across multiple industries he has decided that the banking industry in going to be his new adventure. In previous years he have worked on small to medium enterprises, usually refactoring and improving legacy applications, so he likes to say that he has seen "things you people wouldn't believe". He has worked with a number of different technologies in these years both proprietary and open source and he is a firm believer in using the right tool for the right job.
Emilio is an advocate, almost fanatic, of agile methodologies; so he was delighted to hear that here on NCR these are our bread and butter. Emilio likes to take care of all the small details and he claims to be a perfectionist, his motto: "nobody is going to call you at 3 o'clock in the morning to tell you what an amazing job you have done".
He has been living in Edinburgh for quite some time now and he absolutely loves it, he is originally from the north of Spain so the green woody parks and the hilly areas in the city remind him a lot to his home town, Oviedo, which he will try to oversell to anyone crazy enough to ask him about it.
Outside the office he is always eager to learn new things, he is currently focusing on building scalable, resilient, concurrent and distributed systems. When he is away from his laptop he gets the most out of reading, playing football and going for long walks with his girlfriend and dog around Arthur’s seat.
