Fraser Mcvean

Fraser McVean is a Software Developer at NCR CoDE. Having recently graduated from Strathclyde & Abertay Universities, Fraser is just at the start of his career, and is looking forward to learning and growing to be an experienced Agile developer. He is interested in the growing field of functional programming and how it is both replacing, and integrating with, the 'old guard' of languages, including Java and C#. Fraser joined NCR at the start of 2014 and has yet to say 'no' to a free breakfast every morning.

Working on the NCR Connections team, Fraser works mainly with Java, but is keen to start using Scala wherever possible. Having travelled the breadth of Scotland - from Glasgow to Dundee to Edinburgh - Fraser has enjoyed the eclectic wonder that is Edinburgh, which includes taking a 'duvet day' to go see a Fringe show.

Outside of working, Fraser is an avid gamer, and is amassing a collection of older game consoles (some of which are older than he is). Fraser also enjoys board games and hill walking.
