Leonardo is form Florence, where he started his career as a systems administrator almost ten years ago. He joined NCR Edinburgh in late May 2015 as a senior systems administrator, and he couldn't be happier. Great office culture, very smart and awesomely prepared professionals, and a beautiful cosmopolitan city. He says that the only downside is the weather. Although he survived the last winter in Chicago - where he was getting his certificates in Hadoop and Data Science at DePaul University - so he thinks he could handle it.
His passion for technologies goes back to his father’s Commodore 64, where he started his first steps with BASIC. The interest grew when he got his first IBM 286, and he discovered games like ‘prince of persia’, on which he spent a sickly large part of his childhood. With time, he became passionate on topics like the mind-body dispute, what constitute reality , A.I. and machine learning. No wonder he his a huge fan of P.K. Dick. He always liked to deconstruct, to find loopholes in systems and to create new solutions. He was hooked on Linux as soon as he installed his first distro, almost 15 years ago.
He one for adventure and discovering new places and cultures, so he travels as much as he can. He loves to drive(motorcycles or cars). He likes to hike in the great outdoors as well as playing guitar and is now learning to play harmonica. When he has the chance he loves to draw, paint and write.
