Rafal Chmielarski

Rafal is a Software Engineer working for the Ticketing Solutions team. He joined NCR Edinburgh in 2011 and has been enjoying the friendly, innovative and challenging work environment ever since.

He predominantly works on server-side Java code for NCR's rapidly growing Ticketing Platform, which is used by merchants all over the globe to issue mobile tickets to their customers. As part of that role, he works on improving and extending the system with new features and more efficient internal processes. He likes to take advantage of learning opportunities, including using training days to keep up on new technologies.

Outside of work, Rafal is a big car and motorsports fan. He watches Formula One, World Rally Championship and British Touring Car Championship religiously on TV, and also frequently attends race weekends at Knockhill race track in Fife - not far from Edinburgh. He also plays guitar.

Rafal likes living in Edinburgh because of its status as a small, but diverse capital city: although it has plenty to offer him by way of entertainment, it's also little enough not to feel too crowded.
