Rob joined NCR in January 2020 as a Program/Project Manager having previously been at a well-known supermarket bank as the IT Programme Manager for Core Banking and Payments. Having spent 22 years working for banks Rob decided a change was overdue and NCR Edinburgh was a great place to see the other side of supplying to banks, in a modern environment. With his background across software development, infrastructure, change and support the SD team was an ideal fit. He has what some might say is an endless enthusiasm for safe, efficient delivery and likes to work collaboratively with a positive, motivating drive.
Rob has found that NCR are a smart, collaborative team who are very friendly and helpful. He is looking forward to continuing to learn the tech stack & meeting more people as he delivers projects and processes that make NCR even better for customers and colleagues.
Rob lives locally and is married with a 5 year old daughter. He's had the pleasure of living in the best small city in the world since his university days. His hobbies are photography (classic, infrared, pinhole and drone), and theatre technical management (lighting, sound and staging). Every year he builds and helps to run a theatre venue during the Fringe. One of his greatest achievements has been to compile and operate the sounds of a World War One artillery barrage that reduced audience members to tears. Dad-related skills include knowing the words to the songs in Frozen, building dens and being expert at picking up glitter (usually on his clothes and skin).
