Our People: Tabs Sharif

Tabs Joined NCR In October of 2015 and came onboard to lead the newly formed AOC (NOC) team here in Edinburgh. Tabs comes from a SME background with the ability to wear many hats at the same time and still enjoys hands on. His Military background and many decades in IT allow for a fast paced, proactive and fun environment for the team.

Some of the highs that Tabs is looking forward to are the training days and the sheer enthusiasm from a number of colleagues to help Tabs learn Linux, 33 days of annual leave ( what on earth is he going to do with all that in such a busy house?) The other bonuses of an endless supply of fruit is fantastic! The sense of fun and vibe of constant improvement is a refreshing change for such a large organisation.

Edinburgh is the childhood home for Tabs and having served with the British Army for almost a decade in many different countries, as well as having worked outside of Edinburgh for the last decade, being back in Edinburgh and right in the centre of town is truly awesome. What a fantastic place to live and work.

Outside of work, Tabs and his wife Francesca, have 3 boys, one at Uni and the other 2 at high school, alongside 2 cats it is a busy house. So the home life balance is important and it is the way NCR allows you to manage this that Tabs is relishing and makes time here at NCR so good alongside the atmosphere and great people make this a place to blossom and grow (not helped by the endless Pizza/Fastfood lunches) allows for a better home life balance than has been experienced in many years. A big Disney aficionado, a veteran of doing Orlando on a budget, this new home for Tabs seems like a match made in heaven, time will tell..
