Building upon an existing, highly skilled and successful team we are looking for people to join us in a development environment that emphasizes creativity, collaboration and product ownership.

About this role

NCR Edinburgh are looking for a Part Time Technical Writer (22.5 hours) to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products. You will join a team of talented tech writers who work collaboratively with developers and product managers to make our products easier to use.

Responsibilities:

As a technical writer embedded in a co-located scrum team you will:

  • Work with the engineering team and solution management to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
  • Explain complex information in a clear and concise manner, working closely with developers to ensure technical accuracy
  • Plan, develop, organize, write and edit technical documents and user guides
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on single-sourcing opportunities
  • Maintain and enhance the information architecture
  • Manage updates and revisions in Gitlab and MadCap Flare (training is provided but previous experience of similar tools is beneficial)

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in technical writing or software documentation
  • Ability to deliver high-quality documentation with attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable to our intended audiences
  • Excellent written English
  • Degree (in any subject)
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment preferred
