Alberto joined NCR CoDE at the end of 2013 as a Software Developer. He is currently developing part of the Spring server side component of the NCR Connections product - a next generation Web-based ATM platform - while other team members enjoy progressing the Angular client side. He's always eager to acquire new skills and learn new technologies, and he never misses the 'technology video of the day' shown at lunchtime in the office. Before the move to NCR, he had been working in Madrid for four years as a Java developer - but wanted to move to a sunnier location :)
Unfortunately, while Alberto may have been mistaken about Edinburgh's weather, the other qualities of the city made up for it. He enjoys running, taking advantage of the city's canals, bike paths and other routes to explore. He also likes the novelty of being able to get to an extinct volcano (Arthur's Seat) within five minutes of leaving home - and since he hasn't yet been to the Highlands, it's as close to the wilderness as he has yet managed.
He loves that Edinburgh is a big enough city to have a huge choice of theatres and cinemas, while being small enough to be charming and personal. He also enjoys travelling (plans for 2014 include Portugal and Vietnam) and cooking homemade dishes - diligently eaten during lunchtime. During the weekends, he enjoys photography, cycling, and day trips to destinations in the vicinity of Edinburgh.
