Cristiano joined NCR Edinburgh in February 2016 as Senior DevOps Engineer for Digital Insight. He moved to Edinburgh because he was attracted by the relaxed, friendly atmosphere, the beauty of the city and the opportunity for learning new things.
He's known for trying to put some sort of open source Unix-like OS on every piece of hardware he can puts his hands on, which often leads him to sleepless nights of "I'm just trying to get Bluetooth working again" and "I'll try one more thing before going to bed". He likes to write (horrible) Ruby code but also loves more modern and "hip" technologies, like Docker and Chef, with which he hopes to be able to automate himself away from work.
Cristiano has a dog named after Oz alp Babaoglu, one of the lead designers of BSD Unix and his former Information Security professor during University years (he never passed that exam, though). The professor obviously doesn't know.
In the free time he reads alot of boring books about history and practices boxing, usually not at the same time.
