Trevor joined the NCR Edinburgh office in August 2017 as a Senior Service Delivery Engineer in the DI Service Delivery Team.
Having graduated from Glasgow University in 1993 with an Hons degree in Topographic Science, Trevor took the opportunity to move over to Germany in the mid-90's working on a variety of mapping, remote sensing and photogrammetric contracts for both university and private industry. It was during this time Trevor met his future wife and started to develop an interest in computing while working on various digital mapping projects. After a few years the opportunity to move back to Scotland presented itself and Trevor took up a career in IT; initially in technical support, then as a datacenter system administrator. A move to Agilent Technologies in 2000 saw Trevor further develop his interest in UNIX based systems; installing, commissioning and supporting multi-server telecoms monitoring systems.
It was the opportunity to further develop his Linux Admin and DevOps skills; working with continuous integration and deployment tools that attracted Trevor to the position at NCR Edinburgh. He's enjoying the challenge and the opportunity to learn new technologies, as well as working with a great bunch of talented, knowledgeable and friendly colleagues.
When not in work Trevor enjoys walking and occasionally running up hills and driving his motorbike through the Highlands. In 2009 Trevor completed a continuous round of all 284 Munro's in 3 and a half months using an old second-hand camper van bought on eBay as a base. When all that's done, he also enjoys a beer or two and tapping his foot to live music!
