So we seem to have published a book.
It's about what good server side Java code looks like and how to write it.
There are plenty of other books out there that cover this subject, but this one is a little bit different.
To start with it's free. Much more importantly it's open.
What do we mean by open?
We'd like it to be a useful book, so we're inviting everyone to input into it.
We'd like you to challenge the things you don't agree with. We'd like you to suggest things that are missing.
It won't be possible to please everyone. There are many equally valid views of what good Java code looks like and some of them will conflict with each other. We're hoping that by gathering input from as many people as possible we can capture one that's good enough to survive wide scrutiny.
We intend to update this book regularly so that it can mention specific libraries and technologies but still remain current.
There's a lot of work to do, but we think we've made a good start. We've also already started to receive good feedback from the wider community.
You can read the book over on gitbook.com
If you'd like to comment or contribute something, please do so at the repo on github.
Thanks for your help.
